Our websites use social plug-ins (“plug-ins”) from the facebook.com and twitter.com social networks, which are operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) and Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Twitter”). You can recognize the Facebook plug-ins by one of the Facebook logos and the Twitter plug-ins by the words “Twitter” or “Follow” in connection with a blue bird icon. You can use these buttons to share an article or a page of our websites on Twitter, to follow us on Twitter or to log into an existing Twitter account.

We use the Facebook social plug-ins “Like”, “Share” and “Connect”. You can access the list of Facebook social plug-ins and see what they look like at https://developers.facebook.com/plugins.

If you access a page of our websites containing one of these plug-ins, your browser will establish a direct connection with Facebook’s and Twitter’s servers. The contents of the plug-ins will be transferred to your browser direct and integrated into the website. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that Facebook and Twitter collect with the help of these plug-ins, and for this reason the information provided below reflects what we know about this feature. You can access the information that Facebook provides about its social plug-ins here. You can find further information about how Twitter processes data in Twitter’s privacy policy here. If you are a registered Twitter member, you can change your data privacy settings with Twitter under account settings here.

If you are also logged into Facebook at this time, Facebook will be able to assign the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the Facebook plug-ins, for example if you click on the Like button, the corresponding information will be communicated direct to Facebook and stored there. If you are not a Facebook member, it is still possible for Facebook to identify and store the IP address of your Internet connection.

If you are a Facebook member and do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our websites and link these to data stored on Facebook, you must log out from Facebook before visiting our websites.
